This is a simple Link Activity Counter. You can create links redirects and directly monitor the performance regardles of the CMS or location of the target page. You can monitor both text and graphic links in real time with little or no effort. If you ever want to actually test your analytics, this little tool can give you all kinds of info and insite to your site or page performance. You can use the same Key for several diferent links or redirects you can mix IDs and Filter groups to monitor page competitions in real time.
Make your Counter Link like this:
http://stonesoupcs.com/php/cc.php?url=domain[/linkpage]&ID=##&lkey=####
You can make as many counters as you want or need but the only way they will work is for you to add the above code as the url for your link.... Text, Image or even a CMS form field in most cases will accept the custom url string.
Where url is the page where you want your visitor to be redirected when they click the link. URLs can include page or file name refrences but should not include the http://. ID is the number that you give to your counter. This is the refrence for your click clunt. You can have several ID's or several links using a single ID... depends on your particular usage. lkey is another refrence that you can create to group your counters within the display. Since we are keeping it simple, there is no mechanism for updating your entries... send email or IM me.
You can also associate the same or a different url called a Target associated with your counter link. This is the landing page for a visitor that clicks on your link in the counter display. Kind of neat... you get to redirect within the link and again if you share the viewing page.
Once you have built your self one or a set of counters for your project, they can be easily triggered through link creations in your pages as detailed above or by adding simple code (for page view pegcount) to PHP enabled websites.
